The RTA oversees operation of the QLINE streetcar system in Detroit.

About This Role

The Digital Experience Administrator will take ownership of the digital facing execution, strategy and operations for the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA) and its streetcar operator, The QLINE. With a strong focus on leveraging web analytics, SEO, and conversion optimization, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize our digital visual presence to ensure an all-encompassing, eye-catching experience that drives measurable growth in online traffic and conversions. As we look to the future of transit app development, you will connect the dots between the face of our app and our website presence. This position will require graphics production experience with the ability to produce compelling videography/photography as part of our digital experience strategy. A deep understanding of digital media trends, social platforms, and audience engagement strategies is desirable. 

You will join a team of driven and dedicated leaders committed to enhancing regional transit across Metro Detroit’s communities, connecting people to where they need and want to go.  

This position is hybrid; in-person 1-3 days a week in Downtown Detroit, with meetings in the surrounding city and four-county RTA region, and works from home. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Oversee website management & SEO implementation for external and internal services. 
  • Monitor and oversee website content to align with marketing and brand standards. 
  • Develop & execute external digital strategies to boost traffic & conversions. 
  • Analyze data to improve campaign performance & user behavior. 
  • Create the digital experience strategy and manage the customer experience strategy.  
  • Assisting with the organization’s digital transformation efforts. 
  • Develop and monitor internal websites.  
  • Coordinate with mobile app developers for digital platform integration. 
  • Design and provide in-house training on the systems the RTA uses as needed and/or assigned. 
  • Manage and execute client email blasts, including list management, A/B testing, reporting, and asset creation as needed.  
  • Creation of digital content through videography, photography, editing and producing to ensure dynamic, relevant, engaging, and timely digital multimedia storytelling. 
  • Assist with branding and graphic design needs as assigned. 

Website Management (40-45%) 

  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s websites (including landing pages, blog, and e-commerce sections).  
  • Work closely with development and design teams to implement website enhancements, ensuring optimal functionality, user experience (UX), and mobile responsiveness. 

SEO Strategy & Web Analytics (20-25%) 

  • Lead the SEO strategy to enhance organic search rankings and visibility across search engines.  
  • Conduct keyword research, optimize on-page and off-page SEO elements, and implement technical SEO best practices.  
  • Regularly audit the website to identify SEO issues and provide solutions to improve rankings and traffic. 
  • Utilize Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and other analytics tools to track, measure, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to website traffic, user behavior, and conversion rates. 
  • Set up, maintain, and optimize web analytics tracking to ensure data accuracy and actionable insights.  
  • Generate regular reports on web traffic, user engagement, and campaign performance, and provide recommendations for improvement based on data insights. 

Collaboration & Team Leadership (10%)  

  • Work cross-functionally with content, design, and development teams to execute and iterate on digital marketing initiatives. 
  • Support team members in digital marketing efforts with best practices and analytics tools. 

Graphic Design, Videography/Photography, Multimedia Production (20-25%) 

  • Collaborate with the RTA internal teams and consultants to design and develop marketing assets, including graphics for social media, SEM, email campaigns, and promotional materials. 

Collaboration & Team Leadership (10%)  

  • Work cross-functionally with content, design, and development teams to execute and iterate on digital marketing initiatives. 
  • Support team members in digital marketing efforts with best practices and analytics tools. 

Other Duties as Assigned (10%) 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Experience: 3-5 years in digital marketing, focusing on SEO, website management, and analytics. 
  • Content writing and editing skills: Ability to create engaging and persuasive content and editing. 
  • Ability to analyze web data, user behavior, and campaign performance to drive insights and improve strategies. 
  • Technical ability to build websites, often with WordPress or other content management systems. 
  • Experience working with content management systems and web content management. 
  • Project management with strong skills in organization and time management. 
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment), including browser testing and debugging. 
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles. 
  • Relationship management and the ability to communicate with all relevant stakeholders, providers, riders, and employees. 
  • Performance analysis skills to interpret website data such as load times, conversion rates, site visits, and bounce rates. 
  • Knowledge of best practices and trends in digital channels for sales and customer feedback, such as social media, chatbots, e-commerce, websites, and digital advertising 
  • Identify opportunities for new features and improvements to enhance user experience and engagement. 
  • Knowledge of mobile app development processes 
  • Basic photography, image, and video editing through programs like InShot or CapCut, and graphic design skills 

Minimum Education and Experience 

  • A bachelor’s degree in web development, digital media, computer science, or a related field is required.   
  • Experience using Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, as well as Teams, Zoom
